The Region
Orosi is one of the oldest coffee-growing valleys in Costa Rica, carved by the Reventazón River in the mountains of Cartago. The valley's altitude and reliably humid microclimate produce coffees with particular brightness and a clean, delicate structure. It's a region where generations of farming knowledge show up in what's in your glass.
The Farm
Cachi sits in the deepest part of the Orosi Valley, where the land drops toward the reservoir and the humidity stays high through the growing season. The Coghi Hernández family farms these slopes with the kind of attention that comes from growing up on the land — knowing which corners of the farm ripen first, which microclimates need different handling. Their Obatá lot is a reflection of place as much as process.
